TIPS FOR INTERVIEW! SHARED BY HELMI HADI
1. CGPA means nothing during interview as a 2.75 has the same chance of getting a job against a 3.85 candidate. The CGPA is only used to short-list the candidates called for interview. Interview is a process of eliminating those who do not make it. A 3.85 CGPA is no smarter than the 2.75. Attitude matters more.
2. Research the company/organisation before going for interview. Research the people in the company. Be prepared with knowledge about the company and how to get there. Also research the job requirements/type of work which is offered. Get there early.
3. Practice speaking your weak language, and if you are timid about speaking, try getting a job at a restaurant where you are forced to talk when taking the orders. NEVER answer questions in the wrong language. Present powerpoint in the same language which you are going to talk. Don't mix and match languages in the same sentence.
4. Don't worry if you don't remember everything what you learned. Unless the institution you are joining is directly related to your field, most candidates will be joining a new field. Forensic students have a huge advantage since Forensic is usually used as an ice breaker and people only think it as CSI. Use it to your advantage. Also, read newspapers, see discovery channel/national geographic channel. Show that you are a learned person and you know who are the current ministers.
5. Dress appropriately/formally for the interview.
6. The interviewer is judging you based on your enthusiasm, point 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the space of 15 mins - 1 hr 30 mins.

7. Pray/Doa before going for the interview.
8. If first you don't succeed. Try and try again. Never give up
9. Jokes are allowed but only when it's appropriate. Please smile when talking to the interviewer. Don't talk like you are reading a script.
10. Never say "I don't know" or "I forgot". Say "I am not that sure but I would try to get the information to you as soon as possible
11. After the interview take time to ask the interviewer on how did you do. What needs improving. Unless you get your job on your first try. This is a good learning experience.

* Do not show any inclination to any political party (government or opposition) unless the job offered is from a political party. This is a trap question and try to show neutrality.
Hope this helps.
